It feels as if my friends don't respect my religion at all?

If you were really a committed Christian you wouldn't just smile and let them get on with it. That's why they continue on with their folly...you let them! If you really loved God, you would defend Him and stand up for Him because you care more what He thinks about you than what your friends would. Your friends won't take God seriously because you've shown them that you don't either. You need to stand up and do what's right.
