Which is the best smartphone from the AT&T network?

I like to text and would like a touchscreen. I don't need the internet option and prefer to have a phone where I don't have to buy an internet plan. I had a palm centro and loved it but then someone stole it and its almost time for an upgrade and was wondering which would be the best smart phone.
