Have Jehovahs Witnesses got any RECENT evidence regarding the dangers of blood transfusions?

We don't accept blood transfusions not because of the dangers but because we are commanded to abstain from blood. If it weren't for Jehovah's witnesses the would be no non blood alternatives. We have the right to refuse blood Just as some one has the right to refuse antibiotics. We know that even if we die we have faith that our god can raise us up again
