I need help Cooking?

My father's birthday is coming up and I know that he loves Jamaican curry dishes. I know how to cook and how to make decent curry, but I'd like an authentic recipe. The websites and cookbooks that I've looked at have either modern versions or require certain strange ingredients. So much for post-modernist cuisine. So if anyone has a family recipe or anything that they think is delicious, can I please have the recipe?
